Memoir that Mobilises

What is the voice that brings issues alive and moves readers to new political engagement?

In this historic moment, events are reaching further into more of our lives and dividing more of our communities. Storytelling about hard issues galvanises readers differently from other forms of writing. Every writer of sensitive material faces ethical considerations, but the writer-as-witness  also chooses to publish very personal stories in an environment of truth versus insult. When, and how, can that be worthwhile?

This workshop incorporates research and experience at the intersection of polarised politics and first-person storytelling.
