Off the Page: An Evening with Marilyn Garson

There and here: memoirs of Gaza and Aotearoa

Join us for an evening about writing politics very personally. Marilyn Garson wrote Still Lives – a Memoir of Gaza to humanise a hidden community. Coming home to join her Aotearoa Jewish community, she found herself at the vortex she describes in her new book, Jewish, Not Zionist. Excluded from her community, she responded by constructing a liberatory Jewish identity, both spiritual and activist.

Marilyn Garson joins Gigi Fenster to talk about writing the first-person stories that invite readers into challenging issues.
